Pisang Peak Climbing

 

A journey to Pisang Peak combines diverse features of the popular Annapurna region in term of ethnic groups and changing topography. A unique trek and demanding adventure climbing can be suitable only for the fit individuals wishing to take on an adventure of a lifetime. The Pisang peak rises from the yak pasture above the old Pisang village to the final summit in the uniform slope of snow and ice. The western flank guarded by glacier and a traverse to the whole summit ridge might offer you a considerable challenge on your way to summit. Mountain Monarch organize climbing clinic course briefed and instructed by experienced climbing Sherpa so that you acquire the necessary skills and confidence to summit the top. After the successful Pisang peak climb we trace our way to Pokhara via Throng pass and Jomsom.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Itinerary:

Day 01.

Kathmandu.

Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel.

Day 02.

Kathmandu Sightseeing.

After breakfast at hotel start Kathmandu and Patan cities sightseeing with city tour guide. And rest of the day is free for trekking packing and preparing. Over night stay at hotel.

Day 03.

Drive from Kathmandu to Beshishahar (823m) 6 to 7 hours.

After breakfast at Kathmandu departure to Beshishahar by local bus. One official guide will be continuing with you from Kathmandu and during the period of Trekking Climbing period.Beshishahar is the districtheadquarters of Lamjung district. All the local government offices are situated here. From here, you can see some of mountain peaks, natural sceneries surrounding the valley and the daily activities of local people. This headquarter is the center from where the daily usable commodities are supplied to the different villages and numerous towns.

Day 04.

Beshishahar to Bahundanda (1305) 5 to 6 hours.

After breakfast, start to trek through flat and comfortable Path along the bank of Marshyangdi River. One can enjoy the sceneries and the local culture of Gurung community. After lunch, the trail goes steeply up wards to Bahundanda which take about 2 hours. At this point, you can see area surrounded by eye - catching sceneries with snow capped mountains.

Day 05.

Bahundanda to Chamje (1410 m) 5 to 6 hours.

After breakfast, a steep trails down for early half an hour and then follows flat Path through rice terraces until unless reached to the bottom of a small waterfall. Then climbs up and traverse the hillside high above the river before reaching the village of Laligaon. Then Marshyandi valley forms the steep V- shape, and you follow the winding mountain path down through Syange (1100 m). Then the trail ascends steeply and path is cut into the cliff-face some 200 – 300m above the riverbed. Eventually you descend to the stone village of JAGAT (1330 m). Now the trekking trail begins to observe small ups and downs to Chmje through the beautiful forest. Over night stay at Chmje on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 06.

Chamje to Dharapani (1960 m) 5.5 to 6 hours.

After breakfast, start trek down to the river and after crossing the suspensions bridge, trail leads up to SATALE (1550 m). You continue on an undulating path above the river, the main river is cover with huge boulders that hide the water. Climbing the zigzag path to the top of the hill, you see the level, plain of TAL 91700 m) the level area looks reassuring after the harrowing mountains path just traveled on. Trail descend to a grassy river bank is leads to the TAL with its lodges and Teahouses. The rest of the valley is narrow and the path windy and high. Trail after the Karte there is a bit more difficult walking before path drop again to the river bank. Trail cross a suspension bridge and climb the short distance to entrance of the Dharapani. Over night stay at Dharapani on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 07.

Dharapani to Chame (1960 m) 4.5 to 5 hours.

After breakfast trekking trail leads you through a narrow field from the village, the Dudh Khola, which originates from the south face of Manaslu, enters on the opposite bank. The Marsyangdi then veers to the left, and as Annapurna II becomes visible ahead, you arrive at a Bhote village with prayer flags fluttering in the breeze around Buddhist monastery. Continue climb through forests of pine and oak forest up to Timang village, lies at the bottom of Lamajung Himal. The trail goes through flat level until you reach, is the administrative headquarters for the Manang district. Over night stay at Chame on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 08.

Chame to Pisang (3100 m) 5 to 6 hours.

After breakfast start to trek, Lamjung Himal [6893m] sparkling in the morning sun. The mountain disappears as you climb the path up the valley, passing a huge apple orchard. You continue through a fir and pine forest, climbing to a high, rocky area. From this point the valley becomes extremely steep-sided as you follow the path to Bhratang (2950 m). In the past this was the military station for troops who fought against the Khampa tribal revolution, but the dilapidated buildings are all that remain of that era. You now walk through a pine forest and as the forest ends, the valley changes into a wonderful vista before us. You can see the east peak of Annapurna II as well as Pisang Peak (6091m.) to the north-east. We will reach at the gorgeous mountain village ‘PISANG”. Over night stay at PISANG on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 09.

Pisang – Acclimatization day.

This day is for rest at PISANG and acclimatization before start climbing. One can hike to Upper Pisang for visit to monastery and can go for village tour to UPPER PISANG. Over night stay at PISANG on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 10.

Pisang to Pisang Base Camp (4380m) - 6 to hours.

After breakfast start trek to PISANG BASE CAMP. The trail leads steep ascent passing through Upper Pisang. Path is full of pine and local vegetation, Sparkling range of Mt. Annapurna gives immense worth of this route. Over night stay at PISANG BASE CAMP on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 11.

Pisang Base Camp – Acclimatization.

This day is for rest at PISANG and acclimatization before start climbing as well preparation of PISANG summit.

Day 12.

Pisang Base Camp to Pisang High Camp. (5400 m) - 4 to 5 hours.

You trek along rocky glacier path to high camp. You will be completely charmed by the panoramic view of Annapurna range Chulu East, Chulu Far East, Nawal peak, Tilicho peak and many other unnamed mountain and paces. Over night stay at PISANG HIGH CAMP on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 13.

Summit Pisang Peak and Back to Pisang Base Camp. (6092 m) 9 to 10 hours.

Early in the morning start to climb PISANG PPEAK and attempt Peak Summit. This under full job has to complete before SUN heat. On the top of PISANG PEAK one can have closer panoramic view of Annapurna range, Chulu Far East, Nawal peak, Tilicho peak, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Tibetan Mountains, Kang Guru Peak, Gyaji Kang peak, Tilje Peak, Kuchubhro peak and many more. After a short excursion and Photos Graphy, descend down to the Pisang Base Camp and over night stay at PISANG BASE CAMP on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 14.

Pisang Base Camp to Pisang. (3100m) 4 to 5 hours.

The trail moves steep down all the way to pisang. The view of Annapurna range accompanies you all the way and PISANG Village welcomes again you. Over night stay at PISANG on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 15.

Pisang to Manang (3440 m) 4 to 5 hours.

After breakfast start to trek. The trail climbs a steep ridge, which affords good views of the Manang valley and Tilicho Peak (7145 m). Now you come to a level area from where the northeast face of Annapurna III rises majestically above you. The path leads through SABJE KHOLA Valley and Annapurna IV is in front of you. Just beyond this point you cross the considerably reduced flow of the Marsyangdi Khola via a wooden bridge to the tiny village of Mungi. Cultivated fields appear on both sides of the path and off to the right, below a craggy mountain, you can see the village of Bryaga with its splendid monastery. Large chortens and mani walls abound and the tall peaks of the Himalaya spread out before us - Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Gangapurna (7455m) and, to the rear, Tilicho Peak (7145m). After a short steep climb you reach Manang, which is a surprisingly large village for this remote mountain region. Over night stay at MANANG on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 16.

Manang - (Acclimatization Day).

Rest day at Manang, excursion around the Manang is wonderful. Climbing high above the village for a full panorama of the Annapurna range and the Manang Valley is a way to feel Mountains proximity. A visit of Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) - aid post in the village, makes an interesting and educational excursion. Moreover you can visit Ganagapurna Glacier Lake to make your rest day a special memorable.

Day 17.

Manang to Yak Kharka (4350 m) 3 to 4 hours.

After breakfast, trekking up to Yak Kharka takes about three and half hours. Now the trail ascends gently all the way to Yak Kharka passing through the Gunsang (3960m.) village. En route, you can see panoramic views sparkling on the day light. Over night stay at YAK KHARKA on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 18.

Yak Kharka to Throng Phedi (4420m) 3 to 4 hours.

After breakfast climb gradually to a ridge before descending to the headwaters of the Marsyangdi and crossing via covered wooden bridge. After a short ascent up the mountain path on the right back, you follow a narrow trail across an unstable spree slope and then descend to Throng Phedi. Over night stay at THRONG PHEDI on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 19.

Throng Phedi – Throng La (5420 m) to Muktinath (3850 m) –7 to 8 hours.

After breakfast at early in the morning, start trek steeply upward till your crossing of THRONG LA (5416m). The trail becomes steep immediately on leaving camp but as this trail has been used by local people for hundreds of years the path is well defined. Continue trek after around 4 hours of steady climbing, reaches the CHORTEN and prayer flags of the pass. The views are gorgeous, from the snow-covered mountains above to the head of the KALI GANDAKOIVALLEY below and the brown and purple hills of Mustang which are spread out. The descent to Muktinath is a knee pounding (1600m) but it's compensated for with excellent views of Dhaulagiri. Eventually the moraines give way to grassy slopes before a pleasant walk along the JHONH KHOLA Valley to Muktinath and its shrines and temple. Over night stay at MUKTINATH on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 20.

Muktinath to Jomsom (2750 m) –3 to 4 hours.

After breakfast, trekking POUSH for few hours and start JEEP DRIVE to Jomsom. The dramatic Kali Gandaki Gorge, initially through windswept valley in the same geographical and climatic zone as Tibet. The driving path up to Kagbeni, a primitive village famous for Typical Habitation. People living there follow the Tibetan life style and culture. Over night stay at JOMSOM on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 21.

Jomsom to Tatopani (1190 m) - 4 hours Jeep Drive.

There is option to fly from Jomsom to Pokhara those who do not extend trip longer or do not wish to go POON HII trek. For them who want to go more diversities in trekking. After breakfast, again about 4 hours Jeep drive makes you more excitement and one can enjoy the driving on the Mountain Path up to Tatopani. There is situated the deepest gorge of the world between two mountains Annapurna I (8091m.) and Dhaulagiri I (8167m.) facing each other near Rupse Waterfall. You can enjoy the hot spring at Tatopani. As the word Tatopati is termed after the natural hot spring situated at the bank of the Kali Gandaki River. It is popularly believed that taking bath in Hot Spring helps you to get rid of skin diseases. Along this, it gives you physical and mental refreshment as well. This Jeep driving passes through the typical habitations like; MARPHA, TUKUCHE, KOBANG, LARJUNG, KALOPANI, GHASA, RUPSE CHHAHARA and reached at TATOPANI for overnight stay and enjoy with delicious dinner.

Day 22.

Tatopani to Ghorepani (2820 m) – 6 to 7 hours.

After breakfast, trekking trail passes through flat level of the land at some distance. Then the trail begins ascending steeply for at least one hour. Now path goes up through different villages inhabited by the people of different caste and agricultural land. This trekking path crosses through the Kali Gandaki River with panoramic view of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. The trail ascends gently all the way to Ghorepani passing through small villages like Phalate, Chitre and so on. Now trekking trail pass through rhododendron forests and come across the wild life such as monkeys and birds of various species. Ghorepani (Watering to Horse) is a small and beautiful mountain village and dream point to Mountain seekers. Over night stay at GHOREPANI on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 23.

Ghorepani – POON HILL to Tadapani (2820 m) – 6 to 7 hours.

Early morning Hike to Poon Hill (3232 m) to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Tukuche Peak (6920 m), Nilgiri (6940 m), Varaha Shikhar (7847 m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091 m), Annapurna South (7219 m), Annapurna III (7855 m), Machhapuchhre (6993 m), Annapurna IV (7525 m), Annapurna II (7937 m), Lamjung Himal (6931 m) and other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks. After breakfast, you again follow gradual descent path through the forests of rhododendron and oak forest. After cross DURALI trail terns steeply descanting and continue all the way up to Tandapani. Over night stay at TADAPANI on the trekkers lodge / camp.

Day 24.

Tadapani to Ghandruk (1940 m) – 4 hours.

After breakfast at Tadapani, it is very easy trek by descending gently all the way through rhododendron, oak and other kinds of dense forest. Throughout the trekking you could hear the chirping of the birds around of you. This trail is the popular destination for birdwatchers. We could reach Ghandruk for Lunch. Rest of the day is for Ghandruk Village excursion. Ghandruk is a big GURUNG Village with Handicraft Center and GURUNG Museum. From this village you could see the views of Mt. Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, Annapurna III and ofcourse the great mountain Fishtail. Over night stay at campsite and dinner will be served by camping kitchen.

Day 25.

Ghandruk to Nayapul (960 m) to Pokhara – 4 hours.

After breakfast, start to trek and path leads gentle descending and some time zigzag up to Syauli Bazar. Rest of the Path flows the bank of MODI KHOLA up to BIRETHANTI and NAYAPUL. We meet our vehicle at Nayapul and drives to Pokhara. Check in to the hotel.

Day 26.

Pokhara City Sightseeing:

After breakfast start Pokhara valley sightseeing including; Bindyabasani temple, Seti Gorge, Regional Museum, International mountain museum, DeviÂ’s fall, Gupteshwar cave. Over night stay at hotel.

Day 27.

Pokhara to Kathmandu.

After breakfast at Pokhara transfer to Tourist bus stand and departure to Kathmandu or any other destination as your program. Check in to the hotel at Kathmandu.

Day 28.

Departure.

After breakfast, transfer to international airport as your airport check in schedule or proceeds for further program.
