Pike Dudhkunda Trek

Pike Peak and Pike, Dudhkhunda Treks are newly opened in this region of Nepal. Dudhkunda (4,560m), the holy lake situated in the lap of Mt. Number is a popular trekking destination of Nepal. Literally, 'Dudhkunda' means the "lake of milk' is said to be a sacred lake and is revered by the local people. This trek can be completed either starting from Phaplu back to Salleri or can be combined with the cultural experience passing through Khaling Rai settlements. We can also observe dense forests of rhododendron and a variety of wildlife along the trail. This trek can provide one with a close encounter with the unique Khaling Rais of this area. It is generally believed that taking a dip in its holy waters will fulfill one's wishes. A weeklong celebration is held in Dudhkunda by pilgrims and Jhankris (shaman priests) during full-moon nights in August .

Itinerary of Pike Dudh Kunda trek

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu, transfer to hotel

Day 02: Sight seeing around Kathmandu Valley, including the temples of Pashpatinath, Swyamboudha (Monkey temple), Boudhinath Stupa, Patan City Durbar Square.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Shivalaya, an 8 - 9 hour drive by pass.

Day 04: Shivalaya to Bhundar 5-6 hour walk

Day 05: Bhundar to Goli , 5-6 hour walk

Day 06: Goli to Ngarr, 4-5 hour walk, cheese factory here.

Day 07: Ngarr to junbesi via Pike Peak summit, 7-8 hour walk

Day 08: Junbesi to Thuchangcheli Gompa, 3-4hours walk

Day 09: Thuchagcheli to Phore, 5-6 hours.
Day 10: Phore to Dudhkhunde Lake, 4hours walk

Day 11: Dudhkhunde Lake to Thaksindara, 6-7 hours

Day 12: Thaksindara to Beni Khola, 5-6 hours

Day 13: Beni to Phaplu, 3 hours

Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 15: Departure home
